Super-Pharm named world’s best pharmacy chain

‘Chain Drug Review’ picks Super-Pharm over Walgreens, Boots.

Trade magazine Chain Drug Review has picked Israel’s Super-Pharm Ltd. as the best pharmacy chain in the world for 2010. The company beat the US’s Walgreen Company and the UK’s Boots.
Super-Pharm also operates chains in Poland, China and Trinidad. It uses the same logo and some of the same private-label brands, such as Life and LifeStyle, as Canada’s Shoppers Drugs Mart Corporation, where its founder, Murray Koffler, got his start.
“When I founded Super- Pharm more than 30 years ago, I never dreamed that it would be such a success story,” Koffler said. “There is no question that this is not the success of just one man, but of a team of thousands of employees, beginning with the employees in the stores who are responsible for dayto- day contact with our customers, and up to the company’s executives, who set the vision and lead Super- Pharm to impressive achievements year after year.”
