Israel Always: Who Would be the Best Next President of the United States?

I want to make it perfectly clear that in good conscience as an American Christian who supports Israel, I could never consider a vote for Barack Obama.

As a result of my more than 25 years in the US presidential political arena and having served in senior level positions with four US presidents, I am asked repeatedly to voice my opinion about the upcoming US elections. Here in Israel from where I am presently penning this article, several have asked the question, "Who would be the best next US President for Israel? Since I do not want to be counted among those who failed to speak out in this most critical time in American history, I want to make it perfectly clear that in good conscience as an American Christian who supports Israel, I could never consider a vote for Barack Obama. What you are hearing from liberal pundits, spin doctors, pollsters, and mainstream media is filled with gaps and deceit. Polls are like the stock market in that they go up and down based on hearsay whether it is truth or not. These liberal media sources are counting their chickens before they have hatched. The one important ingredient missing from the mainstream media is the voice of a significant American minority: the Evangelical Christian community which is made up of millions of Bible believing people who firmly and passionately embrace Judeo-Christian beliefs and values, and this crowd will never vote for a man running for president who has clearly proven himself to be untruthful and deceitful. To those of us who seek to live by the truths and principles of God's Word, there is absolutely no agreement with the motives and objectives of Barack Obama. He is the flip-side of everything that Evangelical Christians stand for, like night versus day. We cannot lightly excuse his associations and financial dealings with such unscrupulous people as anti-American terrorist Bill Ayers, nor his membership and participation for 20 years with Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a church which preached racial and anti-American hatred and violence. Add to that his strong support for abortion and the killing of pre-born babies, his endorsement of homosexual conduct and same-sex marriages, his cooperation with, and support for, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their unethical practices which have caused the present serious economic crisis, his stringent most liberal voting record in the entire US Senate, his denunciation of American soldiers in Iraq as killers of innocent people (without such denunciation of the killings of thousands of innocent people by Arab and Moslem terrorists in so many places around the world), his offer to negotiate with the terrorist leader of Iran who is bent on the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of the Jewish people, AND his past stained associations with pro-Arab, pro-Palestinian, and pro-Moslem stalwarts. We must wonder how Barak Hussein Obama ever received the nomination of the American Democrat Party in the first place. With such troublesome baggage being carried by such an inexperienced and unproven political leader, Barak Hussein Obama seems a sure-fire formula for disaster for America. Of course, if Obama is elected to serve as the next President of the United States, Israel would also have to brace herself against the fallout. The White House is not a place for on-the-job training to gain leadership skills. It is a place where a proven leader is to bring their proven leadership ability and experience. You would not put a teenager with a driver's learning permit in the cockpit of a 747 jetliner and expect a safe flight. The United States needs a proven leader, not just an orator who is gifted at stringing deceitful words together to tickle the ears of unwary people. Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, in a clearly reasoned statement which the media called "a slip of the tongue," emphasized that America's enemies will test Obama's mettle in his first six months in office. He added that this testing could even lead to a catastrophic event for America. Israel's main enemies, Hamas and Hizbullah, supported by Syria and Iran, are undoubtedly waiting to test Obama. Surely they believe that a man who would appease and negotiate with terrorists would be a man who would put pressure on Israel to return to its 1967 borders. It is my fervent prayer that all Americans who seek to honor God and His Word, including Jews and Christians, will cast their votes for the candidate who more clearly represents our Jewish and Christian Biblical values and this would be the one who would certainly prove to be the better friend to Israel. In my opinion, that man is John McCain who has already stated that he would not pursue President Bush's policy to pressure Israel to give away the land of Judea and Samaria to the Arabs for a Palestinian state. He even called this American pressure "a big mistake." So I answer emphatically that for the sake of Israel as well as the United States, undoubtedly John McCain is the proven leader who should be elected to serve as the next President of the United States of America.
