Ben-Eliezer weighs expanding household solar energy production
By EHUD ZION WALDOKS
Given its apparent success after being introduced earlier this year, National Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer announced Monday that his ministry was weighing raising the cap on household production of solar energy. Right now, the cap stands at 50 MW for the entire country. Ben-Eliezer also said he was working on an arrangement for a feed-in tariff for medium scope Photovoltaic (PV) solar producers (50 KW to 5 MW).
Ben-Eliezer announced the changes during a briefing he gave President Shimon Peres at the Rabin Power plant in Hadera on Monday. Peres had requested a
tour and briefing about the state of Israel's water and electricity industries.
