Bulgaria could replace Turkey as new holiday destination

As relations between Israel and Turkey continue to sour, Bulgaria could be come the new popular destination for Israeli holiday makers after Minister of Welfare and Social Services Isaac Herzog spent the day Thursday in the Eastern European country.Herzog, who was formerly Israel's tourism minister, met with his Bulgarian counterpart Totyu Mladenov initially to discuss social welfare issues shared by the two countries. However, the talks soon turned to the increasing number of Israeli tourists who have chosen to spend time in Bulgaria instead of resorts in Turkey."Bulgaria offers comfortable prices and a well-established tourist industry," Herzog said in a statement following his meetings there. "It has the potential of becoming a popular tourist destination for Israelis."Last week, after the Flotilla incident, two airlines offering low-budget flights between Turkey and Israel suspended their services.
