40 missing after boat capsizes in northern India

A government official says 40 people, mostly women and children, are missing after their boat capsized in a river in northern India. Local official Sudhansu Shekhar says the boat became entangled in a fishing net and sank Thursday in strong currents in the Harohar river about 40 kilometers east of Patna, the capital of Bihar state. Boat accidents are common in India, where overloading is common and safety regulations are often not observed.
