Arraignment set in Tennessee in plot to kill Obama

Two white supremacists accused of plotting to kill President-elect Barack Obama and dozens of other black people are scheduled to be arraigned in Tennessee. A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted 20-year-old Daniel Cowart of Tennessee and 18-year-old Paul Schlesselman of Arkansas. Their hearing was set Thursday in a Memphis court. They are charged with threatening a presidential candidate, possessing a sawed-off shotgun, planning to rob a gun dealer and taking firearms across state lines. The seven-count indictment says a plot for the killing spree was hatched by Cowart and Schlesselman sometime between September 1 and October 22. Court records indicate their plot fell apart quickly.
