Greek fighter jet reported missing during training mission over Aegean Sea

Greek authorities were searching the Aegean Sea for a fighter jet that went missing late Wednesday, officials said. The F-16 Block 52 jet had been taking part in a training mission, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. It was unclear whether the aircraft had been carrying one or two pilots. A Merchant Marine Ministry statement said military aircraft and coast guard patrol boats were searching the sea north of the island of Alonissos, in the northwestern Aegean, for traces of the jet and its crew.
