India, Pakistan to open Kashmir border

India and Pakistan have decided to open five crossings on the Kashmir border in order to allow earthquake survivors to obtain the aid they need. The decision was reached from fear that thousands left without shelter could die from exposure in the region's intense winter cold, Israel Radio reported. In Pakistan, 54,000 people died in the earthquake. Another 1300 perished in the Indian part of Kashmir.
