Israel sends emergency aid to Mexico and Dominican Republic

Israel is contributing $20,000 in emergency aid to Mexico and the Dominican Republic after both states were hit hard by tropical storm Noel at the end of last month. $10,000 is being allocated to each country and the local Israeli ambassador will decide how best to spend the money depending on local needs. A foreign ministry official expressed the hope that the aid will reach the area latter this week. Mexico has asked for blankets, mattresses and tents; the Dominican Republic needs medical equipment and baby food.
