He was driving his car when he came under fire, and attempted to evade his assassins, before crashing into a post.
Brazilian police said the man was struck by bullets five times. His family has donated his organs to others.
Local Brazilian media said the shooting may have been linked to a work-related dispute, possibly involving a customer who claimed he had been wrongly charged in a vehicle transaction.
Police said the shooting was a mystery, adding that the gunshot victim had no criminal record.
Ma'ariv said the man was married to a local Jewish woman, was a member of Jewish organizations, and had been living in the city for two and a half years.
