Polish parliament votes to dissolve itself, triggering early elections

Poland's parliament dissolved itself Friday, triggering an early election that the government has sought in a bid to end long-running political turbulence. The 460-seat lower house voted 377-54 in favor of dissolution, giving the move the two-thirds majority it needed. The constitution requires that an election be held by Oct. 21, which is also Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski's preferred date for the election.
