Polish president: Ratifying EU treaty is pointless after Irish 'no' vote

Poland's president says ratifying the European Union's reform treaty after Irish voters rejected it last month would be "pointless." President Lech Kaczynski said in an interview published Tuesday in the Dziennik daily that "for the time being, the question of the treaty is pointless." Ireland rejected the treaty in a referendum June 12. It was the only country to put the document to a public vote.
