Report: Several people stabbed at Moscow synagogue

A man armed with a knife stabbed several people in downtown Moscow Wednesday, Russian news agencies reported and there were conflicting reports about whether it occurred in a synagogue. The ITAR-Tass news agency reported the incident occurred in a synagogue around 5:30 p.m. (1430GMT), and that police detained the man a short time after. Other Russian news agencies, however, said the incident occurred outside, not far from the building. Several people suffered knife wounds and were being treated by medical workers, Russian agencies reported. Police could not be reached immediately for comment.
