UK police arrest two men under the Terrorism Act

Police said Tuesday that they have arrested two men in northern England on suspicion of terrorist offenses. The two, aged 25 and 29, were arrested in Halifax in West Yorkshire, 200 miles (320 kilometers) north of London. The suspects were arrested on suspicion of committing, preparing or instigating acts of terrorism, London's Metropolitan Police said. They were expected to be transferred to London later Tuesday. Police said they were searching the two houses where the suspects were arrested, plus other premises in the area.
