UNRWA chief visits Stockholm for talks on PA aid

The chief of the United Nations aid agency assisting Palestinian refugees arrived in Sweden Monday for a two-day visit that was part of a tour of the organization's major donor countries, the foreign ministry said. The commissioner-general of the UN Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA, Karen AbuZayd, was to meet Sweden's Deputy Foreign Minister Carin Jamtin for talks on current challenges facing the organization, the ministry said. AbuZayd and Jamtin will also take part in a public debate on the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories since the Hamas-led government took office.
