US President George W. Bush will visit South Korea on Aug. 5-6 on his way to the Olympic Games in Beijing, the White House said Tuesday. Bush had been expected to go to Seoul next week when he visits Japan for the G-8 summit. However, that trip was postponed amid protests in South Korea over imports of American beef. The White House said the dates for the South Korea visit are Aug. 5 and 6.
