German foreign minister meets Iran counterpart

Iran's foreign minister met his German counterpart on Monday for a discussion that the government in Berlin said would address Teheran's nuclear program. Manouchehr Mottaki and Frank-Walter Steinmeier shook hands for photographers at the Foreign Ministry in Berlin as the meeting started, but made no comments. No further appearance by either man was planned. Steinmeier spokesman Jens Ploetner said before the meeting the German foreign minister planned to reiterate to Mottaki that the group of nations that has been negotiating with Iran is serious about its offer of incentives to Teheran. Ploetner said at a regular government news conference that "our offer is on the table (and) we hope for a constructive answer from the Iranian government."
