13 doctors from voluntary Israeli organization enter Gaza

Thirteen doctors from the Physicians for Human Rights-Israel voluntary organization entered Gaza on Friday morning as part of an effort to provide medical assistance to Palestinians wounded during Operation Cast Lead. Miri Weingarten, coordinator of the Occupied Territories Project at PHR-Israel, told Army Radio that Israel only allowed Arab doctors from the organization into the Strip. It marks the first time outside doctors have been allowed into Gaza since Operation Cast Lead. The doctors were expected to visit Shifa Hospital, where they will check supplies.
