18-year-old girl dies of meningococcal meningitis in Kfar Saba

An 18-year-old girl studying at the Harel Ulpana school in Kfar Saba has suffered lower-brain death at Meir Medical Center after having been infected with meningococcal meningitis.
Fellow pupils and others who were in contact with her were located and given preventive treatment against the highly infectious bacteria that multiply in the tissue covering of the brain and spinal cord. However, there may be more. The Petah Tikva district health office set up an information line for suspected cases of meningococcal meningitis at (03) 9051802/820.
