Sixty percent of Israel's youth have witnessed a violent incident in the past year, according to a report released Tuesday by Elem (Youth in Distress in Israel).
The violence reported included extortion, molestation, sexual harassment, bullying, and assault.
The report revealed that one-third of the country's youth feel that violence in the most serious problem for their age group, while 40% feel that their parents do not understand them.
Tuesday has been designated a nationwide fundraising day for at-risk children and teenagers, Israel Radio reported.
