Bill would allow soldiers to file PTSD claims retroactively
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) will be able to file claims with the
Defense Ministry and National Insurance retroactively for up to three years, according to a bill that passed a first reading in the plenum Tuesday.
MK Zehava Gal-On (Meretz) said she proposed the bill because PTSD can take years to surface while soldiers lack proper health coverage to treat the condition.
