A seven-year-old boy was killed and his sister seriously injured early Monday morning in a fire which broke out in a house in the Golan Heights. Rescue services first received reports of a fire in a two-family house in Moshav Keshet at 5 a.m. Firefighters and Magen David Adom paramedics quickly responded and, upon arriving at the scene, found members of both families outside of the house. Two of the family members, the 11-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother, were in serious condition due to smoke inhalation. The paramedics treated the girl on the scene before rushing her to a hospital, where she is currently listed in serious condition. MDA teams tried to resuscitate the boy, but after many unsuccessful attempts, were forced to pronounce him dead. While the circumstances of the fire were not immediately clear, police were investigating the incident.
