Court orders Ben-Gurion workers to stop striking as flights delayed

The National Labor Court has ordered Israel Airports Authority (IAA) employees at Ben Gurion International Airport to cease striking and return to work, Israel Radio reported Monday morning. Following an intense, round of late-night talks between workers and management of the (IAA) which at one point seemed on the verge of resolution, the employees announced early Monday morning that they would carry out a limited strike. At least 16 flights were delayed by the strike, and embarking passengers were waiting between 45 minutes and one and half hours to collect their baggage. According to Army Radio, negotiations between the two sides centered on a demand by the workers for a wage increase, but broke down when an agreement was not reached. The workers then announced that they would indefinitely delay outgoing and incoming flights, and that they would not unload baggage from the planes.
