Dichter: We must stop the Kassams, even at the cost of the Palestinians

Public Security Minister Avi Dichter harshly condemned on Sunday the Kassam rocket barrages on the western Negev over the weekend, and told cabinet ministers that the threat posed by Palestinian gunmen must be eliminated at all costs.
"We need to stop this war of attrition at any cost, especially at the price of the Palestinians," Dichter said during Sunday's cabinet meeting.
"In the first five days of 2008, at least 21 rockets were shot at Israel, and one of them with a range of 17.5 kilometers which hit Ashkelon," he added.
