Public Security Minister Avi Dichter called Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Wednesday night to congratulate her for winning the Kadima party primary.
Exit polls showed Livni would beat her main rival, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, by about ten percent.
Dichter, who was also a candidate in the primary, received approximately seven percent of the votes, according to preliminary exit polls.
