FM continues work despite Likud resignation plans

Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom reportedly continued intensive diplomatic activity on Wednesday in spite of Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu's intention to pull the party's ministers out of the government. Shalom was scheduled to participate in the international economic convention in Davos, Switzerland and to speak before the UN general assembly in New York in January. Israel Radio also reported that the foreign minister was also meant to visit Austria, the next country to hold the European Union's rotating chairmanship.
