Five men were stabbed in a mass brawl that broke out in Kiryat Gat early on Saturday over music blasting from a car.
The argument began at 4 a.m., when a female kiosk owner asked four men in their 20s to turn down the volume.
The kiosk situated near Kiryat Gat's central bus station reportedly faces closure due to complaints by neighbors of loud noise from customers who visit it at night.
The kiosk owner called her husband to the scene, and the dispute quickly turned violent.
"The husband was stabbed and seriously wounded. A number of passersby came to his aid, and four more people were stabbed," Lachish police spokeswoman Supt. Meital Geref told The Jerusalem Post.
The five victims were rushed to Ashkelon's Barzilai Medical Center; two were in critical condition, one in serious condition (the husband), one in moderate condition and one lightly wounded.
"We believe that after that kiosk owner was stabbed, a number of passersby rushed to his assistance, resulting in a mass bawl. And that's how we arrived at this large number of wounded," Geref said.
Four people were arrested and taken for questioning by the Lachish police subdistrict's central unit on Saturday evening.
"We will get to everyone who was involved," Geref said, speaking before the arrests. "This is usually a quiet area."
Police have also appealed to a judge to issue an order to close the kiosk for 30 days.
In a separate incident in Netanya on Friday night, a motorcycle owner arrived at his vehicle just when a man was trying to steal it, leading the surprised thief to stab and moderately wound the owner.
The victim was rushed to Netanya's Laniado Medical Center. Police have launched a hunt for the thief.
