IDF reservists and conscripted soldiers will spend 30 to 40 percent more time training in the coming year than in the past year, OC Ground Forces Command Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz said Tuesday afternoon.
Gantz, speaking at the new ground forces training base at Tze'elim, called for change in the reserves law following the summer's war in Lebanon, Army Radio reported.
The new policy would entail extended call-up periods in the interests of maintaining the units' operational fitness, he said.
