An IDF soldier was moderately wounded Tuesday night during a clash wish armed Palestinian insurgents in the central Gaza Strip. The forces, who were in the area to counter terror threats, observed one of the gunmen and opened fire. The soldier was evacuated for treatment. Meanwhile, two armed Palestinians were killed Tuesday night in a skirmish with IDF soldiers near Jenin. The IDF was yet to comment on the incident. Witnesses said about 30 jeeps and a bulldozer entered the village in an arrest raid, and a fierce exchange of fire ensued. The gunmen were killed and the house in which they were holed up was partly burnt, they said. According to the report, one of those killed was a commander in the al-Kuds brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement. The other casualty belonged to the al-Aqsa brigades, Fatah's military wing.
