Gideon Ezra proposes witness protection program

Internal Security Minister Gideon Ezra will bring a witness protection program to the cabinet for approval on Sunday. The program, which following its approval will be up and running in several weeks, will supply protection to witnesses who testify against members of criminal organizations. The establishment of the authority is based on recommendations made by a committee led by former Jerusalem district attorney Moshe Lador and includes moving witnesses to countries abroad and changing their identities with the possibility of plastic surgery.
