Holon youths allegedly built, detonated pipe bombs 'for fun'

Three Holon youths were arrested by police Tuesday evening on suspicion of detonating improvised pipe bombs in sand dunes on the city's outskirts. Police then searched one of the suspects' homes and found bomb-making materials. Police sappers were called in to clear out the hazardous materials and the building's tenants were evacuated for the duration of the sappers' activity there. The three - an 18-year-old boy, and 18-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother - were caught after police received reports of blasts from the direction of the sand dunes. One of the youths said during his initial questioning that he built the bombs "for fun."
