Construction and Housing Minister Ze'ev Boim said Sunday he would vote against the budget in its current form since it failed to provide for the needy and for those who require housing in the poor sectors of society, especially in development towns in the periphery.
Boim is the main supporter of Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz in the Kadima leadership race, who also opposes the budget. Mofaz has said that he believes the budget proposals of Finance Minister Ronnie Bar-On, who has endorsed Livni in the Kadima race, are a ploy in order to bring him down.
