IDF forces uncover tunnel shaft near Gaza's border with Israel

IDF forces operating in the northern Gaza Strip Monday overnight uncovered a tunnel shaft which was being dug in the direction of the Israeli border fence, 700 meters from the border. Security forces believed the tunnel was meant to be used by terrorists to infiltrate into Israel and carry out an attack. As reported earlier Tuesday, during the operation forces exchanged fire with Palestinian gunmen, killing one armed man and wounding three, according to Palestinian officials.
