Israel to allow Gaza to export produce to Europe

Israel will allow export of agricultural produce from the Gaza Strip to Europe, despite having declared Gaza a "hostile entity," Agriculture Minister Shalom Simhon and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have decided. Palestinian Agriculture Minister Dr. Mahmoud Habash is expected to be notified of Israel's decision on Wednesday. Gaza exports an estimated $100 million worth of produce, including strawberries and flowers, to Europe annually.
