Israeli businessman kidnapped in Ghana escapes

An Israeli businessman in his sixties that was kidnapped in Ghana last week managed to escape from the hands of his captors on Thursday. The Foreign Ministry told Army Radio that the man contacted local security forces and met with his family. The man's captors were demanding a $30,000 ransom for his release after kidnapping him last Tuesday. Negotiations that were conducted via the Israeli's business partner apparently came to no avail. Kidnappers initially demanded half a million dollars, but later reduced the ransom.
