Kadima intended to convene on Monday in order to formalize Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's role as party chairman.
Olmert, who thus far held 15 porfolios, was expected to make several ministerial appointments on Wednesday, easing the load off himself.
Among the nominations, he was expected to name Justice Minister Tzipi Livni as acting foreign minister; Transportation Minister Meir Sheetrit was to take on the additional role of education minister.
