Knesset passes bill to extend maternity leave

The Knesset passed a bill in its third and fourth readings Monday, allowing for the extension of maternity leave from 12 weeks to 14 weeks from birth. The bill was initiated by MKs Dov Hanin (Hadash), Likud faction chairman Gideon Saar and Labor's Shelly Yacimovich and Nadia Hilou. 95 MKs voted for the bill; none voted against.
