Lieberman urges security-oriented approach to Palestinians

Strategic Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman (Israel Beitenu) said Wednesday that he hoped Israel would drop its current diplomatic approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and adopt a security/defense-oriented approach. Lieberman told Israel Radio that after the US-sponsored Annapolis peace parley, scheduled to take place on Monday, two scenarios were possible. Either Israel would give in entirely to Palestinian demands, he said, or negotiations would reach an impasse. Lieberman reiterated his demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
