The Mayor of Jerusalem, Uri Lupolianski, will fire the historic cannon of eastern Jerusalem, marking the start and end of the Ramadan fast, on Monday, September 25th 2006, at 18:15 the Jerusalem Municipality Spokesperson reported.
The cannon is located at the old eastern Jerusalem cemetery on Tzalah A-Din St.
As part of comprehensive municipal preparation for the Ramadan, the municipality purchased 87 shells for the cannon, both regular and colored, at a total cost of approx. NIS 6,800.
