Mendola was stopped while driving recklessly on Highway 6 with lights and siren, when an officer from the Netanya police station discovered that Mendola was not responding to an emergency.After stopping the spokesman, the police officer noticed a police badge in Mendola's posession. Mendola was taken for questioning and subsequently, the police found that the badge was stolen from a Traffic Police inspector five years earlier. He claimed that his children found the ID.
