Yigal Hadad, who was convicted of severely beating his former wife, was sentenced on Monday to 13 years in jail.
Hadad attacked the woman with a knife six months ago, after she rejected his pleas to resume their relationship.
Army Radio reported that during the sentencing, the judges emphasized the serious emotional distress the woman was under following the incident and ordered Hadad to pay her NIS 100,000 compensation.
