More building waste being properly disposed of

Sixty percent of construction waste was either recycled or put in registered landfills in 2007, the Environmental Protection Ministry said Monday. The ministry said that represented a significant jump from previous years. 700,000 tons were recycled, up from 300,000 in 2006. However, that number still only represents 20% of all building waste. 1,400,000 tons were safely buried in proper landfills out of a total of 3,500,000 tons produced in Israel annually.
