Motorist hurt by car thief during police chase

A 16-year-old Israeli teen driving a stolen jeep crashed into a private car during a high speed police chase in Jerusalem on Tuesday, police said. The passenger in the private car near the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of French Hill was lightly injured and was evacuated to the nearby Hadassah-University Hospital at Mount Scopus. The suspected car thief, a female resident of Ashkelon, was arrested on the scene. A search of the vehicle, which was stolen hours earlier in the coastal city, uncovered a substance thought to be drugs, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
