The National Union-National Religious Party will recommend to President Moshe Katsav Monday that Labor's Amir Peretz head the construction effort of the next coalition, according to Army Radio.
The decision by the NU-NRP camp pushes the number of MK's who support Peretz to form the next coalition to 29, while Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has the backing of 36 MK's.
