Obama plans to visit Sderot on Wednesday, aides say

Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama intends to visit Sderot on Wednesday as part of his trip to Israel, campaign aides said Tuesday. Aides said Obama wanted to visit Sderot to gain a firsthand view of life in a part of Israel that has come under rocket attacks. His schedule indicates he intends to spend only slightly more than an hour on the ground. The aides declined to speak on the record, turning aside reporters' requests that they do so. Obama's schedule for Wednesday also includes a visit to Yad Vashem. Aides said a stop at the Western Wall was also a possibility.
