The government said Monday the exchange of bodies of Lebanese Hizbullah fighters for the body of an Israeli was linked to efforts to win freedom of captive reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office said the deal was "in the framework of negotiations to return [Regev and Goldwasser.]"
Channel 10 TV reported that Israel received information as part of the deal, but a gag order prevented release of details.
