Palestinian shot after he tries to stab soldier dies of wounds

A Palestinian man has died of his wounds after IDF soldiers shot him close to a checkpoint in the southern West Bank, police said Saturday.
The IDF said the 30-year-old man approached the checkpoint carrying a knife on Friday and attempted to stab a soldier.
The army said troops opened fire and wounded the man, identified as Khalil Zaarir.
He later died in an Israeli hospital.
