Iran represents the past, and Israel represents the future, President Shimon Peres said Tuesday evening. A country like Iran belongs to the past, and they should not be feared. His comments came at the "Facing Tomorrow" Presidential Conference at the Jerusalem International Convention Center, which he said was the answer to Iran. 60 years of astonishing independence of a small country can be seen today, said the president. He continued to say that whilst perhaps Israel will not grow in a geographical sense, and that it may even shrink in the near future, if yet another nation is established in the region, Israel will grow ideologically and intellectually.
