Police ban Hamas-organized east J'lem gathering

Jerusalem police on Saturday banned a Palestinian gathering in east Jerusalem which was organized by Hamas, police said. The conference, which was slated to take place Saturday night in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Tsur Bahir, was banned on the order of Israel police chief David Cohen, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said. With a heavy police presence in the neighborhood no participants showed up for the event.
