Education Minister Meir Shitrit announced Monday that Professor Zvi Rappoport was the winner of this year's Israel Prize for research in chemistry.
Rappoport, who teaches in the organic chemistry department at Hebrew University, is considered to be a leading scientist in his field both in Israel and abroad. He has collaborated extensively with scientists in other countries, and has received numerous international awards in recognition of his achievements.
